On Friday, October 9, President Trump announced that the U.S. would start importing millions of gallons of Russian diesel to the United States.
These imports are not expected to provide measurable relief to Americans’ high prices at the pump – but they are more than enough to help Russia to kill more innocent Ukrainians.
Decision makers are watching closely to see whether the public takes notice of this step. Raise your voice now and demand: Stop all purchases of Russian oil and gas, and increase sanctions on any country that chooses to import fuel from Russia.

What you can do
Community action
Come together as a group to send a message. One of the best ways to do this is to hold a protest rally.
- You don’t necessarily need a lot of people: 3-5 people are enough to hold a small rally in your town.
- No fancy signs needed: Handmade signs are often the strongest
- Take photos and video, and post to social media. Tag Community for Ukraine, and we’ll help amplify!
Individual action
Easiest action to take: Send a one-click message to Congress! Open one of the links below, send the latest campaign about sanctioning Russian oil. Read your message, make any tweaks you want to the text, and send.
Then come back tomorrow and send the campaign from the second link.

Slogans and sign ideas
Here are some short and simple slogans that can be used when taking action. You can write them on signs, use them in social media posts, chant them out over a megaphone at a rally, and more.
Here are some mockups of how these protest signs could look:
